Cedar Conversion

During a Cedar conversion the old cedar shakes are removed in order to expose the wooden straps. Then, additional wooden strapping is added and new plywood is installed to create a flat service for the underlayment and asphalt shingles to be adhered to. The most common type of underlayment is felt or synthetic; either product will provide the proper water resistance and complete the overall roofing system.
